BBC New Comedy Award | BBC Studios Comedy | Deadline: 3rd May 2018 at midnight

The BBC New Comedy Award is a talent search organised by BBC Studios Comedy to find the next generation of comedy (including stand-up, sketch, musical and character comedy) stars.

Entry is open to UK residents aged 18 or over as at 9 April 2018. To enter you need to complete an application form and upload a 5 minute audio piece of your own original previously unbroadcast comedy material. Successful applicants will be judged through various rounds (heats, semi-finals and finals). The overall winner will receive £1,000 and a 15 minute script commission. All five finalists will be offered development support from BBC Studios Comedy with the opportunity to present to networks across the BBC to consider for broadcast, as well as development advice and guidance from the BBC Comedy department and a chance to appear in other slots across the BBC.
