Embryonic Stem Cells
Sue Nelson presents the second in series of discussions about the science behind the news.
Embryonic stem cells
Should we use human embryos for research which could combat serious diseases?
'Stem cells' taken from early embryos can grow into any cell in the human body. Scientists hope to use them to treat a whole host of diseases from Parkinson?s to diabetes. But destroying fertilised embryos for scientific research has sparked condemnation from Christian groups.
Sue is joined by biologists and ethicists to talk about the choices we face in stem cell research.
