The English language is permanently evolving and developing. New words and expressions are coined and existing words change their meaning as society, culture and technology progress.
Gavin Dudeney has selected 13 words and expressions that have recently made it into the language, if not necessarily into dictionaries.
Gavin has worked in language education since 1988, as a teacher, materials developer, IT manager and web/user interface designer - for International House, The British Council and Net Languages. He's the author of The Internet & The Language Classroom and co-author of How to Teach English with Technology, and he now runs his own online training and development consultancy.
Each unit contains the text of the talk by Gavin Dudeney. You can also listen to the talk and download the transcript and audio, as well as a lesson plan for teachers based on the talk.
