Sarah Ndagire swims against the tide in Uganda's music scene but her music, which combines Western influences with those of her homeland, has won her a loyal audience in abroad.

With two albums to her name and more to come, she believes it is her duty to preserve the culture of her homeland and make the rich tradition of music and dance internationally known.
Her 'fusion' of tradition and modernity, local and and international has produced an uplifting contemporary sound which she has been showcasing in Europe over the last four months.
After performing in London she spoke to BBC Network Africa's Alice Muthengi.
