Why does a chilly day feel so much colder when the wind is blowing?
For over 65 years, the BBC has been delivering weather forecasts in sound and vision but using haptic technology an experimental device has been developed that lets you use your sense of touch to 'feel' the weather forecast.
The prototype uses ultrasound waves to simulate - by touch - different weather conditions, ranging from the feeling of rain falling on your hand to the glow of sunshine on your skin and the sensation of snow falling on a winter's day.
