"Writing songs and playing my own music is all I've ever wanted to do," says the Newport singer-songwriter.

Born into a musical family, Mark Ruebery was exposed to a range of styles and classic albums, developing a taste for some of the world's best guitarist.s.

Informed by the likes of The Beatles, Rolling Stones, ELO, Queen, Eric Clapton and Guns N' Roses, Ruebery enrolled at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama at 18.

It was at the college that he did a classical course and developed a taste for jazz.

In 2008 his first album, Because Of You (recorded at the World-famous Rockfield studios) was released, with singles such as It Goes And Comes Round and Burning Inside getting extensive plays from BBC Radio Wales and spot plays on Radio 2.

New single Something Opens Windows is due for release in January 2010.
