BBC Things provides a single reference for the growing collection of entities that matter to the BBC and our audiences.

Following the principal of Linked Data, these are often linked to more complete, authoritative or canonical open data sources.

BBC Things include the following types of entities:

  • Person
  • Place
  • Organisation
  • Event

More details of the data and types we maintain can be found on our Ontologies website.

This site is built on top of our Things API, which is also utilised by a variety of BBC online products.

If you would like to get in touch with us, you can email Connections.TechSupport@bbc.co.uk.
