Trees map

In this investigation, pupils have counted the trees in their school ground and calculated their total carbon value.

We release carbon into the atmosphere and trees absorb some of it as they grow. A tree's carbon value is a measure of the amount of carbon it can absorb.

The map key shows tree icons of different sizes, which indicate the quantity of carbon stored in the tree.
