Poetry with Simon Mole inspired by Heitor Villa-Lobos' 'Little Train of Caipira'

Take a look at some wonderful work made by children across the UK whilst they stay at home.

In week one's activity Simon Mole took us on an imaginary train ride to create our own poem inspired by the Little Train of Caipira.

Let your imagination run wild as you follow Simon Mole's step-by-step guide in creating your own poem. Where will you go? What will you see? Who will you meet?

My son Stanley , ten, listened to Simon Mole's step-by-step guide to writing a poem about a train journey. Brilliant! Stan wrote a few words and ideas at the various 'pause' moments, then I cut up the words and phrases, mixed them up and asked him to try and come up with a poem. For a boy who finds it hard to focus for any length of time, he found this surprisingly amusing and fun, even posing for photos. A positive poetry session - hurrah! Thanks Simon :)
