Get Singing for BBC Music Day with BBC Ten Pieces!
To celebrate all things vocal we have teamed up with the BBC Singers to create an exciting new set of singing activities and guides especially for you to use with your singing groups and choirs surrounding Hans Zimmer's piece of music written especially for BBC Ten Pieces; Earth.
Watch presenters Chris and Cat perform alongside the Cbeebies Proms Choir and the BBC Singers at the Cbeebies Prom and listen to a specially made version of Earth sung by the BBC Singers.
Now it's time to Get Singing!
Get warmed up and get singing with plenty of activities in our packages below! We have performance user guides, recorded vocal lines and piano accompaniments to rehearse with - for both primary level and the more competent vocal ensemble. You can also explore our accessible and fun activities for students with additional needs (PMLD/SLD/MLD).
Who are you teaching?
Get Singing encourages primary school children around the UK to sing together for wellbeing in playgrounds, assemblies and lessons on BBC Music Day on Thursday 26th September. All schools are invited to take part – without any practice or preparation! BBC Music Day will be hosting an engaging, simple vocal warm up video on their web page for you to play on the day.
This year, we’re highlighting the benefits of singing on health and wellbeing. With a wealth of research proving the positive impact that singing can have on physical as well as mental health, building some group singing into everyday school life can have a lasting effect on your pupils. Studies have shown that singing in school helps children feel better about themselves, their school environment and the world around them.
