Primary Music KS2: Romans - 6. Roman gods and goddesses
BBC Teach > School Radio > Music KS2 > Romans
Introduction
The chorus of this song makes the link between the many deities of Roman mythology and the planets in the night sky – Jupiter, Neptune, Saturn, Mercury, etc.
Mercury’s ‘Mystery Tour’ takes us to the heights of Mount Olympus, where we eavesdrop on a talent-show and hear snippets of stories about Jupiter’s thunder, Diana’s hunting, Venus spreading love, Neptune in the ocean, Apollo making music, Janus bringing in the New Year and Minerva inspiring poetry.
The song: 'Roman gods and goddesses'
