Jim Hawkins - our hero
Jim works in The Admiral Benbow Inn - but he's bored with life and dreams of adventure.

Jim's mother
Mrs Hawkins runs The Admiral Benbow Inn, a pub on the Bristol Channel where Jim works.

Billy Bones
He stays at The Admiral Benbow... he's on the run from the pirates because he has the map.

Black Dog
Comes to The Admiral Benbow looking for Billy Bones...wants to know where the map is.

The Blind Beggar
He comes to The Admiral Benbow and delivers the fatal 'black spot' to Billy Bones.

Squire Trelawney
Self-appointed leader of the expedition but a buffoon and Livesey thinks him a liability.

Dr Livesey
The most sensible adult member of the expedition...forms a plan with Ben Gunn.

Long John Silver
Ruthless leader of the pirates... but also resourceful and brave... forges a bond with Jim.

Captain Smollett
The expedition captain... is injured... has contempt for Long John Silver and the pirates.

Captain Flint the parrot
Named by Silver after the notorious Captain Flint, who first buried the treasure hoard.

The pirate crew
A motley crew from every conceivable background and united only by a love of treasure.

Ben Gunn
He's been marooned on Treasure Island and dreams of being revenged on those responsible.

Hands
One of the nastiest of the pirate crew... but meets his match in young Jim Hawkins.
