Physical Education KS2: The 'leo walk' from street dance

Lizzie from CBBC's Alesha's Street Dance Stars teaches a breakdown of the 'leo walk' used in locking for street dance.

She begins by demonstrating the movement step by step, starting with the lower body and feet and adding the upper body and arms to finish.

The music is then played while she performs the 'leo walk' and gives teaching points.

This clip is from the BBC series, Street Dance Masterclass.

Teacher Notes

The movement can be broken down and incorporated into any dance piece to demonstrate locking.

It's a tricky move which pupils will probably be able to pick up just by mirroring Lizzie's sequence.

Curriculum Notes

Exploring the art of street dance, this series will be relevant for teaching physical education and dance at primary level.
