The superhero family are being interviewed for a television show. Dad claims to be a vegetarian and to eat healthily, despite footage of him eating fast food. The Invisible Son says he likes pizza, and Dad expresses the belief that Chinese fast food is healthier than chips and burgers. Super Mum complains that school dinners are unhealthy and she gives her daughter sandwiches. Super Daughter says she hates the sandwiches and throws them away. The family talk about the sport and exercise that they do to keep themselves fit and healthy.
Key Stage 4: This clip could be used to practice talking about food and healthy habits. Set comprehension questions for pupils to answer in class or at home to prepare for Listening exam. Pupils could recreate scenes in class/write a summary for homework. This clip could help to prepare pupils for controlled assessment (speaking). Identify grammatical structures that pupils should use in speaking and writing. Pupils could use the film to “get their ear in” just before the final Listening exam.
