Drama KS3 / KS4: Musical theatre production of I Know Me (pt 3/6)
The third in a 6-part musical theatre production in which we see Jake being led by the Spirit and Sprites to the Angry Place; where he will confront the anger that’s at the root of his bullying behavior.
Transported back to the Spirit’s world, we see Jake talk about the reasons behind his anger and his being a bully.
This clip is from the series Make a Musical.
These clips could be used as inspiration and a template for teachers and students to stage their own version of the production.
Supplementary ‘how-to’ clips provide suggestions and ideas to support the development of a musical production.
The Sprite characters offer schools the opportunity to cast across, and include all year-groups - including primary, if they have younger pupils.
The song’s powerful rock-based beat offers the opportunity for free-form or choreographed dance.
The underlying theme of anger offers an issue for discussion.
Some of the lyrics from 'So Angry' can be changed following class discussion, in order to be tailored to the things that make the pupils angry.
