History KS4: Overcoming racial stereotypes in World War One
This film looks at the story of a French artist in the South of France, who overcame the racial stereotypes and restrictions which the army imposed on Senegalese soldiers.
Academics using contemporary sources discuss the development of the relationships between the soldiers and the artist.
