English Language GCSE: How to perform poetry
Pop star Labrinth has a performance challenge for two young students: to perform a poem to an audience for the first time.
They are given tips from experienced performer, Caroline Bird, before taking to the stage at the Latitude festival. Labrinth then catches up with them to find out what they've learnt from the experience.
This clip is from the series Labrinth's Speak Out.
Could be used to help students build self-confidence in public performance, with tips given on how to give a successful performance.
Students could be encouraged to perform a poem of their own choosing to their classmates.
This could also be useful as a part of careers advice for students interested in a career in poetry or live performance.
The topics discussed will support OCR, Edexcel, AQA, WJEC GCSE in England and Wales, CCEA GCSE in Northern Ireland and SQA National 4/5 and Higher in Scotland.
