Mark Ronson's musical childhood

The experience of hearing music around his home when growing up inspired and enthused a young Mark Ronson.

"My first musical memory as a child is that my dad really loved music and he would listen to records and he was really into soul and RnB," the British–American musician, DJ, songwriter and record producer said.

It was when Mark was at New York University that he became a popular DJ in the hip hop scene although, as a child he had picked up many musical instruments, "My dad got me a small drum kit and that was my first instrument."

He's best known for his talent of introducing a note of old-school funk to a song and some of these collaborations were with artists such as Adele, Amy Winehouse, Miley Cyrus and Bruno Mars.
