The caravan kid - Williams aims for taekwondo glory
- From the section Wales
With a European senior gold medal and a junior world title to her name, Welsh taekwondo star Lauren Williams talks about her journey to the top of her sport.
Williams, who recently won BBC Wales' Young Sports Personality of the Year award, moved to Manchester with her mother at the age of 14 to live in a caravan in order to pursue her dream. Her mother, Tanya, took a career break while her father, Allan, set up a vending machine business in order to fund her training.
After being inspired by double Olympic gold medallist Jade Jones in London 2012, she is now targeting a gold medal at the Tokyo Olympic Games herself.
