World Snooker Championship: Day qualifies but Stevens and Dale out
Ryan Day has secured his place in the World Snooker Championship - but fellow Welshmen Dominic Dale and Matthew Stevens have failed to qualify.
Day came back from 5-4 down to beat 1997 world champion Ken Doherty 10-6 in the final qualifying round at Ponds Forge in Sheffield.
But Dale and Stevens suffered 10-6 defeats to Ali Carter and Kyren Wilson respectively.
The draw for the first round will be made at 10:00 on Thursday.
The competition starts at Sheffield's Crucible Theatre on Saturday, where Day will be joined by two other Welsh players, two-time world champion Mark Williams and Michael White.
It is the second time in three years that Stevens - twice a runner-up in 2000 and 2005 - has lost in the final qualifying round.
