Championship One: Crusaders maintain winning start

Rochdale Hornets 18-35 North Wales Crusaders (Sun)

Kingstone Press Championship One leaders North Wales Crusaders maintained their unbeaten start to the season with victory at Rochdale Hornets.

The Welsh side scored tries through Leon Brennan, Rob Massam (2), Lewys Weever, Gary Middlehurst, Jono Smith and Tommy Johnson, with Johnson also adding three goals.

Hormets' tries were scored by Paul Crook, Dave Llewellyn, Dave Hull and Gareth Langley.

London Skolars 39-20 South Wales Scorpions (Sun)

South Wales Scorpions suffered a fifth defeat in a row to London Skolars as the hosts dominated the second half of a scrappy game.

Skolars' win takes them off the bottom of the table as the Scorpions started their four games on the road with a loss.

The Welsh took the lead in just the third minute when James Tutuila fed Dalton Grant to ground in the corner.

Andy McLean hit back for Skolars but Grant grabbed his second for Scorpions before Haydn Peacock stretched the visitors' lead.

Skolars dominated the rest of the game, though, with tries from James Anthony, Michael Worrincy (2), Dylan Skee and Alex Hurst pulling them clear - with Peacock claiming his second the only Scorpions score.
