A peak Sampras would destroy a peak Djokovic..
Nadal will be getting his excuses in early for missing Wimbledon and ATP World Tour Finals this year lol
@490. MK The fact that Nadal is always favoured and gets easy draws in GS really does stink...H
It was an exciting final but I felt that it was not one of the highest quality ..more of a slug out won by Federer because at crucial times he gave Cilic no hitting space by going at the body of Cilic rather than going wide. Not much change of pace, not many serve and volleys , not many lobs or dropshots . It was just a little one dimensional to be really great ..maybe because of type of court.
Djoko - when he was fit at his peak - was the best athleteMurray was not at the same fitness level as the top 3 though he had improved vastly. Remember his first Wimbledons when he was very skinny, never looked like he could last 5 sets ?
I've always believed that while Rafa, Novak and Andy may have had more success against Roger, it's because they are superior athletes, and good enough tennis players to make it count. Take their extra speed and power out of the equation, and as a tennis player alone, Roger kills them. He's simply the greatest male tennis player the world has ever seen, and the greatest it's ever likely to see.
It all depends the court speed for Rogers titles also. They make the courts slower after he dominated 2004-2009. But for some reason the Rod Laver arena is now fast as you like and Roger has added another 2 titles. No idea how they slow it down or speed it up. Interested to find out what’s on a hard court for speed.
As his unbelievable carrier - and life, has proven - Rodger Federer is not only a great sportsman but also a great gentleman. If people would be more like him, especially those in top economic and political leadership positions, the world would be a much better place.
If you haven't see the fed play live make sure you do. To see the artistry and athleticism in action is a sight to behold. When you see close up how smooth and light on his feet he is it explains his longevity. Put it on your bucket list
Federer- The Supreme Commander / Field Marshal of Tennis
So RF showed emotion and tears. What's wrong with that? Buffoons on here saying it's fake or to get more attention?!? You people are really thick. You will never reach the heights he has in his career so let's belittle the guy! I thought his emotion was raw and genuine. And those other buffoons who thought his path to the final was easy?!? Could Nadal have had an easier path to the final!!!!!!
