Southampton's Gabriella Taylor hopes to carry the confidence she has gained from her Wimbledon experience forward into future tournaments.

The 16-year-old went out in the third round of the girls' singles on Thursday to Spain's Paula Badosa Gibert.

"I've learned a lot here, I've gained huge experience and it's boosted my confidence," she told BBC South Today.

"I'm not going to back down; I'm going to fight and come back next year and do much better."

Taylor, who trains in Spain, also reached the third round of the women's singles qualifying, beating former world number 29 Sofia Arvidsson 6-1 6-3 in the process.

But after her lengthy stint at the All England Club, Taylor, who has set her sights on becoming a top 10 player in the next few years, has yet to decide when and where she will return to competitive action.

"I'm not sure at the moment, I need to recover," she admitted.

"But I'll shortly go back to Spain and start training again."
