Luke Bambridge was among the British players to win as the Wimbledon junior singles tournaments got under way.

The 18-year-old, who reached the third round last year, beat American Noah Rubin 3-6 6-4 9-7 but Samm Butler, Cameron Norrie and Alexander Sendegeya are all out of the boys' event.

Katie Boulter and Lana Rush both progressed in the girls' draw.

But Katy Dunne, Isabelle Wallace and Anna Brogan all exited after losing at the first-round stage.

Boulter beat Croatia's Adrijana Lekaj 6-3 6-3 and Rush, 16, is also through after a 7-5 4-6 6-4 win over Argentine Constanza Vega.

But seventh seed Dunne, who reached the quarter-finals of the Australian Open earlier this year, lost 6-2 6-2 to Romanian Ioana Ducu.

Wallace lost to another Romanian, Ioana Loredana Rosca, 6-7 (3-7) 6-2 6-1 while Brogan was beaten 6-3 6-4 by Hsu Ching-Wen.

Bambridge, meanwhile, will next face number seven seed Christian Garin of Chile.

Butler lost 6-1 6-1 to Italian sixth seed Gianluigi Quinzi, Norrie was beaten 3-6 6-2 3-6 by Serb Laslo Djere and Sendegeya went down 6-2 6-4 to Australia's Bradley Mousley.

Kyle Edmund, who played in the senior draw for the first time this year, losing at the first-round stage to Jerzy Janowicz, is one of 13 Britons still to play their first-round matches.
