British number one Elena Baltacha went out of the Sparta Prague Open on Wednesday with a second-round loss to Czech world number 10 Petra Kvitova.
The Scot, who beat ex-world junior number one Daria Gavrilova 6-2 6-4 in her opening match, lost 6-2 6-3 to Kvitova, who won in Madrid last week.
Kvitova had defeated Briton Anne Keothavong 7-6 (7-1) 6-3 in round one of the ITF event in Prague.
"She was just too good for me today!!" Baltacha said on Twitter.
"I really enjoyed the challenge though, especially on my least fav surface! loads of positives banked and without a doubt the best prep going into the French Open!! onwards and upwards."
The 27-year-old moves on to Strasbourg, where she has a place in the main draw, before the French Open gets under way on 22 May.
