Sycerika McMahon has been selected in Ireland's team for the World Championships in Barcelona next month.

The Portaferry teenager made the qualification time during the London Olympics when she swam 2:14.76 in the 200m individual medley.

McMahon, a European silver medallist, will take up a swimming scholarship at Texas A&M following the competition.

Chris Bryan, Fiona Doyle and Barry Murphy will also represent Ireland in Spain from 20 July to 4 August.
