Bermuda has been chosen to host the 35th America's Cup in 2017 - the first time a US team have decided to defend the title outside their own country.

Oracle earned the right to select the venue with victory last year.

British Olympian Ben Ainslie, who helped Oracle come from 8-1 down to beat Team New Zealand 9-8, will lead his own team, Ben Ainslie Racing.

Artemis Racing, Luna Rossa Challenge, Emirates Team New Zealand and Team France will also compete.

The race first took place off the Isle of Wight in 1851, but a British team has never won it.

Ainslie's team is based in Portsmouth, and the south coast resort will host two preparation events - the America's Cup World Series - from 23-26 July 2015 and 21-24 July 2016.
