Cornish Pirates prop Sam Rodman and winger Alex O'Meara are to leave the Championship club.

Rodman, 29, played 41 times after joining from Jersey Reds in 2019 and is to join rivals Hartpury.

Rodman received a letter from US President Joe Biden last year after working as part of the security team during the G7 summit in Cornwall.

Long-serving back O'Meara, 29, scored 56 tries in 108 appearances over seven seasons at the Mennaye.

"He is someone who has really developed during his time here, from being just an elusive fast guy into someone who has a good all-round game, including kicking the ball and knowing the game inside out," Pirates joint-head coach Gavin Cattle said of O'Meara.

"To his credit this season, he has also played a big part in developing others and has been a great contributor both on and off the pitch."

"Sam has been a most valuable asset to the Cornish Pirates during his time with us," added Cornish Pirates joint-head coach Alan Paver.

"He does a lot of work that people don't see and had to be very patient.

"You can put him on the field, and he is able to hold the set-piece together and contribute around the field, and we wish him all the best for the future."
