France won easily in the end in difficult conditions and a largely 2nd choice team. They will play a different side v England and beat them reasonably easily, making Argentina a must win game for England, loose V Argentina and it'll be bye bye england.
The French unpredictability strikes again.... But underestimate them in a RWC at your peril.
All I'll say with France at a RWC is 'spin the wheel', we must be very careful to look at previous France performance and assume that us the team to turn up. That being said, if both England and France play their best rugby, England should win. Penalties may be our undoing and a careless high tackle could put us behind! Slippy ball conditions won't do Eng any favours either!
It's sad that France can no longer be considered amongst the top teams. England should win this group comfortably. France will then face Wales and England will face Australia. All going to plan for me.
Typical French performance. You could hear the commentators edging towards the possibility of France not winning - then they wake up and with a little shrug of their shoulders power up and score three tries.
Typical French performance, you never know what to expect from them, but on that 'performance' nothing to worry about.
England have named a very strong 23 for Saturday. I think once Mako gets up and running he will start and Genge will bench.
I don’t know who the favorites are for this group. Argentina and France are both strong teams. England will have to play very well to win this group.
@107..classicI dont think the result was ever going to be in question but well played to the US for at least 60 odd mins of the game. Possibly be a team to reckon with come 4 years time.France ok, I'm sure it will be different for when they meet England. Group A and group C bringing the real interest to the tournament so far.
Me the Mrs and the dog could beat France at the moment, ones got worms and the other has a pulled hamstring. But the vet said the hamstring should be ok by next week.
"NZ just go on and on scoring."No they don't. Didn't score for last 24 minutes.
Lots of huff and puff as ever chaps.50/50 games between seeds 1-8.England & Wales & France & Argentina could win their groups and they could all win the World Cup.Let’s just see. Let it be.
Argentina are more likely to beat England than France. But you wouldn't put much on either of them doing so.
Sure there was a space in the squad for Thomas. He could have been a game changer coming on off the bench running at tired opposition.Penaud has huge quality yeah enough to be very worried but hoping Genge runs over him a few times.Good luck Wales and England..pretty sure one of you will be in the final...
@101Teddy Thomas is an out and out speed merchant. His replacement, Damien Penaud is not only fast but has a good rugby brain as well. Be careful what you wish for.
The games again Argentina and France will no doubt test the nerves of us England supporters but pleased teddy thomas never made the French squad. Two teams looking good are Wales and NZ but hoping England settle down and improve with each game.Ireland not looking their world ranking, just a poor mans Exeter.
