Kaminieli Rasaku twice brought Fiji to within a point with his two tries, but Wales crossed three more times through Dewi Lake, Ben Warren and Ioan Davies.

Despite also beating Argentina in their first game, Wales ended up third in Pool A after the hosts beat France.

France beat Wales in the pool stage and finished second, with Argentina edging them into top spot. Fiji are bottom, with their four tries against Wales earning them their first point of the tournament.

Wales will now face New Zealand in a 5th-8th play-off match, which will take place at 14:30 BST on Monday, 17 June at the Racecourse Stadium, Rosario.

The winners of that game will play either Ireland or England for fifth place. The losers of the Ireland v England game will play Wales or New Zealand with seventh place on the line in a tournament that ends with each team being ranked from one to 12.
