Lad should be given props for giving it a go. Will be hard for him to crack the first team at Warrington but who knows. Likely move in to the forwards at his age. Brave lad.
Those who watch RU will know Burrell is a flat track bully, He's a world beater when playing average teams, but anonymous when the going gets tough. He got the shepherds crook for England in Australia. RL knuckle heads will knock him off his game for sure.
Elbusto you carry on like new people read about Rugby League on here and have never seen me on here. Remember no new people care..But Probably more than 100 Elbusto! Good to see you policing me like you try to do with everyone else on The Roar website.
Luther is a thoroughly nice man and was a great 'saintsman'. We at the garden wish him all the best for his future career and thanks Luther, for the memories!
Vichy that’s 100 negative comments about rugby league this season. Congrats bro. 1000 should be easy. As for Burrell, I wish him well but I can’t see him handling the demands of our great game at his age to be honest.
Surprising decision. As a 33 year old outside back he's probably got one season, two at best in him in league, yet probably would have managed another 5 or 6 playing at the top level of the plodding code only taking the ball 3/4 times a game! Strange to go union to league at the end of a career, expect him to be back in union in 18 months
how do they do iti look at Warrington and wonder how did in the last 3 seasons where they under the cap, then look at them this season 2 games in and can make a signing like him. do they make a clear out next year for another cracker of a signing in G W. we at Wigan must be paying to much for boys, then to top it all we get a points deduction.
@25 - No he's not marquee, he doesn't count on the salary cap for 2 years, and then in the 3rd year, his wage is only 50% on the cap.Come back when you know what you are talking about, Chris.
Good signing for Wire - no impact on salary cap and we’ve got the money to spare.Give him this season to adapt and next year there is another great addition to the squad.
He’ll struggle in league, he’ll see so much of the ball he won’t know what to do with it .... just wish he could of come a couple of years early and given himself time to adjust, he’ll be 34 before he’s in the swing of things..... well done for testing yourself though ... more should follow Fax fan
Just have to knock a few brain cells out of him and convince him there is nothing wrong with playing in empty stadiums and he will fi in well.
For all those who say "more to develop new players", who are the new players going to learn from ?You don't want your teachers too incestuous. Outside blood is always good in education.
I've nothing against Wire but they obviously have more money than sense. I assume they are paying him even more than at N Hampton- in fact, is he marquee? - and he's a has been in Union. So he's a has been in League. Is he really gonna be in Wire's first choice 13?!
He should be fit enough for next season. First day at training introduce him to the ball!
Steve Price knows what he is doing, so with Blake Austin here and Gareth Widdop coming next year, Luther will have some brains trust to help him adjust. I am interested to see whether his sizeable frame will be used in the forwards. Luther you have my best wishes and good luck and thanks for giving it a go. Up the Wire.
Welcome aboard Luther.
@7 - We don't use West Wales Raiders as our dual reg team.
