England scrum-half Danny Care has been dropped for Saturday's match against Australia at Twickenham.
Centre Alex Lozowski and number eight Zach Mercer have also been left out of head coach Eddie Jones' 28-man squad for the final autumn fixture.
Northampton back Piers Francis and Manu Tuilagi have been included.
"We weren't happy with some aspects on Saturday and he can go away and work on them," said Jones about his decision to drop Harlequins scrum-half Care.
Jones also confirmed that wing Chris Ashton will have a scan on his calf on Monday after picking up an injury in the win over Japan on Saturday, but says it "doesn't look too serious".
Meanwhile, England are hopeful Tuilagi will be available to face the Wallabies, with Jones saying the Leicester centre is "100%" in contention but will not play if there is any risk.
Tuilagi was expected to play against South Africa in the first match of the autumn but suffered a groin injury in training.
Number eight Nathan Hughes is included in the squad after returning from a six-week suspension, having trained on Friday and Sunday.
England have two wins from their previous three autumn fixtures, with victories over South Africa and Japan coming either side of a 16-15 defeat by world champions New Zealand.
- England were poor against Japan - Guscott
- 'We wanted Japan at their best'

Farrell is a class act but shouldn't be burdened with the captaincy and Ford without Farrell is like a bairn without his comfort blanket.
We need Cipriani in the squad and on the bench - if Farrell is injured or cited we are doomed.
Calm down, he had a decent game against Leicester reserves, but given that the full strength Leicester side aren't great, it is a bit early to hail him as the messiah.
There is a case to have him on the bench, but Farrell is a better 10.
Thought the Irish were a cut above all NH sides on Saturday. Superbly coached, disciplined and aggressive. Unsettled NZ and showed the exact template to beat them.
When is Eng vs Aus ever dull?
Also isn't it time to remove on-field adverts which spoil the usually immaculate playing service and viewing experience. Most of the colours seem to end up on the players shirts and shorts making them look ridicllous
Needs a run out with a proper 6 and 7 not two big lumps playing out of position.
Mercer is twice as good as Hughes and is the future.
Daly isn't a fullback
Nowell isn't a centre
Keep 2nd rows where they belong
Sinkler, Slade, Underhill, Cokanisiga, and Wilson all stood up
Care, Ford and George need to pull their finger out
Ford is not the Plan B (see above)
England still have a discipline problem
BUT - overall not a bad return :-)
Would want Manu to be a impact sub with Cokanasiga getting a full game.
