Why is anyone surprised at Italians cheating ?They have been doing it in football for years and don't get me started on white flags and changing sides.Weak people who dress well !
Italy tactics were spot on. I couldn't believe that professional rugby players didn't know what to do with an excellent interpretation of the laws. (Or rules according to haskell) Wait for half time and ask the coach, unbelievable really. Eddie Jones comments are bang out of order.. He was out thought and he doesn't like it, acting like a spoilt child...I thought the ref handled it very well
Yesterdays match was proof, if any was needed that Italy don't belong in the 6 nations. There have been some great battles this year, and Italy choose to try to justify their place by applying the rule of the law rather than the spirit. Even with this "cunning plan" it was a typical Italy performance: passable 1st half followed by a 2nd half collapse.Desperate coaching, dumb tactics.
EnochGlad all your examples are quite recent. Must have missed England killing it in the red zone. I do remember Daly mugging Cuthbert though. That was fun. When have England ever played this tactic of not competing at the breakdown?I'll give you an hour to have another trawl through Wikipedia.
FIVE different HYS about the weekends Rugby!!Wow BBC that's really pretty bad management
Not too fussed about the results in Rugby. The game died a death about 10 years ago. The important thing about this game is that as long as everyone enjoyed themselves then that's all that matters. I want to see Scotland win it and I'm English. Always good to see all nations compete. If it's too one sided it becomes a snooze fest.
110 Fist of the North 'Never see England do that'Clearly you never watched England when Neil Back, Lawrence Dallagio or Richard Hill were playing the back row .Never watched Dean Richards play for England then. Austin Healey yellow card Paris 2000?Did not see England kill the ball in the red zone twice after being warned by the ref in the Wales v Eng game and only get a penalty awarded
i agree England should stop whinging & understand the laws better BUT if you paid to watch that match at over £90 a ticket, i would have been livid. Supporters pay for entertainment now & that's what they expect. That law needs to be changed for the supporters not the players.
Its amazing how this tactic has apparently been used for years at amateur level, with everyone coming out of the woodwork as experts in how to deploy it.
To be honest, I thought the Italian tactic was fantastic. Good on them for bringing a bit of originality to the game. At least it provided a bit of entertainment, in what for me, is becoming an increasingly dull game to watch. Scrums take forever, rolling mauls can last minutes at a time and are nearly impossible to stop, and it's becoming a dull spectator sport in my opinion.
