Championship: London Scottish 33-37 Jersey Reds
Jersey survived a thrilling London Scottish fight-back to move above their opponents in the Championship table.
Two tries from Simon Kerrod, plus scores from Kieran Hardy and Dave McKern, helped the Reds to a 31-7 half-time lead, with Jamie Stevenson going over for Scottish.
Dave Cherry's score from a maul, Peter Lydon and two from Jason Harries narrowed the gap to just one point.
But Jersey held on as Sam Katz kicked a penalty in a tense finale.
Jersey had gone into the game having not played for nearly three weeks, but their pack started brightly with a 40-yard driving maul early on and then moments later prop Kerrod crashed over for the opener.
Scrum-half Hardy waltzed in under the posts, finishing off a neat move involving debutant Nick Scott, before Kerrod grabbed his second after a maul broke down to make it 24-0 midway through the half.
Stevenson finished a move which started in the Exiles' own half to get the hosts on the board but the Reds were well in control at the break after McKern's close-range try.
Then came the comeback, with Cherry and Harries both touching down to give their side renewed hope.
Lydon sprinted through to touch down and further narrow the deficit before Harries scored in the corner and Lydon's conversion made it 34-33 to Jersey.
Katz's successful penalty from the restart did little to calm the nerves as the home side went in search of a last-gasp winning try that never came.
Jersey climb to sixth spot in the table, five points outside the play-off zone and two points above seventh-placed London Scottish.
