Louis Picamoles scored France's try in the second half - but New Zealand's won their final match of the year and remain unbeaten in Paris since 1973.
The All Blacks' only defeat of 2016 came against Ireland in Chicago.
France lost the last meeting between the pair 62-13 at the 2015 World Cup and battled hard on Saturday but failed to make their first-half pressure count.
