Kiwirealist: Yep, spot on mate. Except that I don't believe any of these bad winners and whingers are actually Irish. They have been exceptional both on and off the pitch from what I have seen. I think the complaints about refereeing bias, the unfair advantage of the Haka (when we win), the naturally diverse Polynesian talent pool NZ can select from etc.. etc.. is coming from 'the usual suspects'.
How sad there are still the usual moaners who think the AB's get it easy from the refs. Not only an insult to professional referees but always the standard go-to excuse for yet another loss. Just accept Ireland played bloody well, certainly outplayed the AB's on the day, and enjoy it. But no, the usual whingers can't help themselves. Talk about bad winners.
What a game, will surely do more for rugby in the US than sending Sarries over there.Congrats to the Irish.
SofaLofa. Yes, NZ is a small, young country that does partly define itself by the performance of national teams on global stage. Rugby is our national sport.Welsh are much the same due to their size and history. If this is a 'problem' though, perhaps you could state your own criteria for measuring national pride/value/worth so we can work to become more well-rounded, less oval-shaped colonials.

this weekend the winners areeng to win by 15aus to win by 5arg to win by 7ire to win by lotsthe lions are going to be made up of ire and eng players wales and scots will be luck to get any on the plane
I predicted Ireland might win this match on Friday on another website, some people questioned the fact that i had said putting Kiano at lock could end up a big mistake, some replies were interesting but in the end Ireland clearly targeted the guy and coupled with Barratt being found out at 10 again paved the way for a great historic win! So Chicargo now holds the key for long awaited wins in sport
Kiwis rivalling Welsh for chippyness ?Problem when define national pride/value/worth by RU team performances.
@133 Kwiscot@125 brewster Dublin in two weeks will be a very different match. The All Blacks will have two of their three missing locks back. Enjoy your well deserved day in the sun Ireland, but remember the ABs just don't lose two in a row to the same opponents.--Yes they have, England in 2002/3 and probably others.Maybe you'll have Nora virus in 2 weeks time if you lose again.
RolyLions are not picked on current form, usually horse trading, especially when coach is employed by national team, consider Graham Henry 2001.Warren Gatland dropped BOD in Australia and got away with decision because team won, was BOD problem in early tests ?WG likely to again pick lots of Wales players because he knows and trusts them.Expect Anglophobia will kick in.
This was one of the best matches I've watched in a long time. The Irish we so well prepared for it, the occasion didn't get to them. A solid performance. Seeing Ireland play to this level, seeing what England did in the summer, my fears as a Welsh fan keep growing. We are so far behind, it's scary. The ref was on the ball too, the AB's got away with very little, for once.
239. Posted by SofaLofa Why deluded ? 2013 Lions was Wales plus.Gatland unlikely to pick Scots or especially English players.___Lets make this really easy. The likelihood is that the bulk of the Lions will be from England based on current form. Even Gatland isn't stupid enough to pick a Lions team based on one result.
SofaLofa. I wish the referees would ping the ABs the same as everyone else, particularly as the penalty count was 10-3 to Ireland! I am of course being sarcastic, the 10-3 count was absolutely fair, but it does put paid to the myth of refereeing bias that I constantly see on this thread. Not an opinion, a statistic. Most decisions favour the dominant team. Certainly the case again in this match.
the Irish have back this win up with another in 2 weeks time and win the 6N
