Premiership winners Saracens have announced plans to redevelop the West Stand at Allianz Park.

The new stand would be similar in size to the East Stand and would raise the regular capacity of the ground by 500 to 10,500.

However, it would also allow Sarries to temporarily increase the capacity to 15,000 for one match a year.

The north London club will hold exhibitions to outline their plans and seek input from the local community.

Saracens say the proposal would allow them to enhance the provision of community, education and sporting facilities at the stadium.

The European Champions Cup holders can stage 16 matches a season at Allianz Park.

Sarries hope to be granted permission to increase the capacity to 15,000 in the event that the club qualifies for a home quarter-final tie in the European Champions Cup.

"It is clear that the West Stand needs replacing," Saracens chief executive Heath Harvey said.

"This provides the opportunity to expand on the great work that is delivered at Allianz Park and underpin its success as a community, educational and sporting hub."
