Jersey Reds' leading try-scorer Lewis Robling says players at the Championship club are relishing the chance to learn from Regan King.

The former All Black joined this summer and played in their win at Richmond.

"He's a hell of a player, we're going to take what we can from him and pick his brains all through the year.

"It's a real nice experience to have an All Black playing outside you and we're all just relishing the opportunity to play alongside him," Robling said.

The 41-16 win over the newly-promoted London club put Jersey on top of the Championship after the first round of matches.

The islanders had an excellent pre-season, winning all three of their games including a 23-17 victory over Premiership club Worcester Warriors.

"There's a sense that we've got such strength in depth and it showed even when the boys came off the bench as they put a real good shift in," added Robling.

"There's a real good feeling and we're excited."
