Alafoti Faosiliva: Bath release Samoa flanker after assault conviction
Bath have released Samoa international flanker Alafoti Faosiliva after he pleaded guilty to an assault charge.
Faosiliva received an eight-week prison sentence suspended for 12 months, and was told to pay £1,500 in compensation after knocking a student unconscious in an "unprovoked" attack in February.
The 30-year-old made 29 Premiership appearances for Bath after signing for the club in July 2013.
He has won 15 Test caps for Samoa, having made his debut in 2006.
"I want to apologise to my club, to my team, for what happened," Faosiliva said following his sentencing on 6 May. "I want to say thank you for the support."
