Steve Larkins: Redruth 'full of confidence' after five wins in six

Southend v Redruth
Redruth have won 11 of their 16 games so far this season

Redruth boss Steve Larkins says his side have a great deal of belief after winning five of their last six matches.

The Reds only National Two South loss since the middle of November came in the middle of December when they went down to a bonus-point defeat at Barnes.

In that time the club have beaten Cornish rivals Launceston without conceding a point and beat Southend in their 'best away performance'.

"We're full of confidence," Larkins told BBC Radio Cornwall.

"But we also know that this is a real tough month for us, we've got some of the top teams this month."

Fifth-placed Redruth host mid-table Bury St Edmunds before taking on second-placed Cambridge and third-placed Bishop's Stortford in successive games.

"We always said that if we wanted to be in that top four or five we've got to make sure that we compete with the top teams and beat the top teams," Larkins added.

"The challenge is this month when the weather and the pitches are pretty bad is that we've got to make sure that we step up and we're looking forward to the challenges that lie ahead."
