Harvey Biljon: Jersey commitment impresses head coach

Jersey v Doncaster
Doncaster scored a stoppage-time penalty try to force a draw at St Peter on Saturday

Jersey head coach Harvey Biljon says the club's recent results have shown how committed his side are.

Jersey drew 17-17 with Doncaster on Saturday as they extended their run of form to just one loss in six games.

"Our players six weeks ago put together a commitment about what they wanted to get out of these six games," he said.

"To have got 23 points in six games, that is a commitment and an effort to show how far the players have come," he told BBC Radio Jersey.

Jersey are up to fifth place in English rugby's second tier and are second in their British & Irish Cup pool.

"If you think who we've had to play," added Biljon. "We've played Doncaster, who are at the top of the league, Cornish Pirates, the most difficult place to go at Christmas, the two British & Irish Cup games and the Rotherham and Ealing games.

"Those are huge games and to come away with 23 points is fantastic and the boys deserve a week off before they come back recharged and ready to go for the new year."
