Gloucester have bolstered their back-line options with the signing of Tonga's David Halaifonua, subject to visa approval.
The 27-year-old, who can play wing or at full-back, returns to Kingsholm after playing there for his country against the United States last month.
He comes in to replace Tom Isaacs, who has left to join Cardiff Blues.
"David will bring something different to what we already have," director of rugby David Humphreys said.
"We've watched him for some time and obviously had the chance to see him first hand during Tonga's recent internationals.
"We're looking forward to welcoming him on board, adding more international quality to the squad and seeing him contribute for what is an exciting second half of the season."
Halaifonua, who has six international caps, has been playing club rugby for Warringah in New South Wales.
