Wales replacements Mike Phillips and Aaron Jarvis could be doubts for Saturday's Test against South Africa.

Wales forwards coach Robin McBryde revealed scrum-half Phillips and prop Jarvis were both suffering from minor problems.

"Mike hasn't trained today, he's feeling a little bit under the weather and Aaron Jarvis has woken up with a bit of a sore ankle," McBryde said.

"But they've both been taking a full part in training [during the week]."

Rhys Webb has again been preferred at scrum-half to Phillips, 32, with Scarlets number nine Rhodri Williams likely to come onto the bench if the British and Irish Lion fails to recover.

Should Jarvis' ankle problem prove more serious than indicated, another Scarlet - the uncapped Rob Evans - would probably be added to the replacements.

Wales are already stretched at loose-head prop, with Ospreys pair Nicky Smith and Ryan Bevington sidelined by injury, while Bath prop Paul James is not available for the match in Cardiff.
