Lions 2013: Alex Corbisiero return was key to win, says physio
The return of Alex Corbisiero was the key to winning the Test series in Australia, says Lions physio Phil Pask.
The 24-year-old prop, who will play for Northampton next season, missed the second game with a calf injury, but marked his return with a try after 90 seconds of the decider in Sydney.
"Getting him fit probably won us the game," Pask told BBC Radio Northampton.
"I thought he was outstanding. To come back from injury, play like that and to score as well, it was fairytale stuff."
Another try-scorer in Saturday's series-winning victory over Australia was Wales wing George North who will also join up with the Saints for the 2013/14 season.
North, 21, had his own injury problems on tour, but recovered from a hamstring strain in time to start all three Test matches against the Wallabies.
"I wasn't so sure about George North before this tour, but my goodness, now I am absolutely convinced," added Pask, a former player and physio for the Saints.
"He's young, he is huge and he is an athlete - what a talent. Saints fans should get very excited because he really is that good.
"Corbisiero I've known for a long time, and Northampton have done unbelievably to get these two guys for next season."
