Tonderai Chavhanga

South Africa wing Tonderai Chavhanga is among seven players to leave Newport Gwent Dragons.

Chavhanga, who scored 10 tries for the Dragons since joining the region in 2011, has struggled with injury this season, playing only 10 games.

Former Ulster full-back Jamie Smith, who only played four games during his two-year spell, is also leaving.

Samoa centre Andy Tuilagi, a regular for the past two years, is another to end his time at Rodney Parade.

Loose forward Hywel Stoddart and lock Josh Tyler will also depart after coming to the end of their contracts with the region.

Prop Dan Watchurst, 23, has been forced to retire after failing to recover from a leg break in 2011, while hooker Steve Jones announced his retirement in April.

Number eight Tom Brown has joined Championship outfit Jersey.

Flanker Dan Lydiate, who has been selected for the British and Irish Lions tour of Australia, had already confirmed he will leave and is expected to join Racing Metro in France.

The Dragons have confirmed they have signed Fijian back-rower Netani Talei, South African lock Martin Muller, Argentina prop Tetaz Chapparo and Italy fly-half Kris Burton.

The Men of Gwent have also signed Welsh internationals scrum-half Richie Rees and hooker T Rhys Thomas for next season.
