Exeter Chiefs head coach Rob Baxter says he is looking forward to see new signing Watisoni Votu in action.
The Fijian, who had visa issues in the summer, has started training with his new team-mates at Sandy Park.
"He's a natural rugby player and a natural athlete, which are great foundations to work from," Baxter told BBC South West Sport.
"We've brought him in for developmental purposes, to have a look at him and see if he's a longer term prospect."
from Fiji before they can finally register Votu to play.
The 27-year-old winger made his international debut in the summer against Japan and has won four caps for Fiji.
"We're assuming he'll be ready when the Premiership resumes," Baxter added.
"He's not eligible to play in the Heineken Cup anyhow, so we're assuming he'll be good to go as soon as we can get some game time into him.
"It's not like we're going to rush to chuck him straight in to start a Premiership game as soon as he's available.
"He's going to have to work his way in like anyone else."
