Late drop-goals from captain Paddy Jackson and replacement Luke McGrath saw Ireland Under-20s beat Wales Under-20s at Dubarry Park on Friday.
The Irish had dominated the game but the scoreboard did not reflect the possession and territory enjoyed by Mike Ruddock's side.
A fine break by Ireland centre JJ Hanarahan sent Shane Layden over in the right corner for the game's only try.
But a Sam Davies drop-goal and Lewis Williams' penalty kept Wales in touch.
