Launceston needed a late James Salter try to secure an 18-12 win over Westcombe Park in National Two South.

Despite having Nick Coles sent off after just six minutes, the league's bottom side took a 12-3 lead at half-time after tries from Jonathan Wright and Jonathan West.

Kieron Lewitt's penalty and Lewis Paterson's unconverted try brought Launceston to within a point.

And with four minutes left James Salter crossed the line and Lewitt converted.

"It was a good fightback, it was a scrappy first half," flanker Josh Lord told BBC Radio Cornwall.

"But we pulled it together in the second half and ground out a victory.

"It's always nice to win away, that's been one of our aims this season, to improve our away form, and we've started to do that in recent weeks and hopefully we can keep that going.

"The boys pulled together at half time and when we came out it was a much more solid team performance in the second half, everyone playing for each other, everyone working as hard as they could for each other and it's really pleasing."
