Newcastle Falcons have completed the signing of Tonga international winger Suka Hufanga on undisclosed terms.
Hufanga, 29, who spent five years with French side Brive, was part of Tonga's World Cup squad, scoring the try in their celebrated win over France.
"It's a better club for me to be playing rugby with than in France," Hufanga told BBC Newcastle.
"I've played against Falcons twice. I think it will be good for me to be playing with them."
Hufanga's arrival at Falcons was delayed by the World Cup, followed by a five-week ban after being cited for a dangerous tip tackle on Vincent Clerc.
"I don't think I am match fit," said Hufanga. "I was out for five weeks and I need a bit more time to come back to fitness if I am to play at Premiership level."
