Nick Walshe expects Bedford Blues progress
Bedford Blues backs coach Nick Walshe has backed his side to build on this season's success.
The Blues finished runners-up in the Championship league stage and British & Irish Cup and were narrowly beaten by Worcester in the play-off semi-finals.
"A lot of the guys are staying and we've got some good guys coming in," Walshe told BBC Look East.
"We're very positive about next year, we'll keep trying to build and maybe we'll come first at one point."
The Blues came out second best in a competitive British & Irish Cup final on Saturday against Bristol at the Memorial Stadium, with the home side lifting the trophy after a 17-14 victory.
"I felt we deserved something out of that game," added Walshe.
"I think we've had a good season, we came second in the league, pushed Worcester very close last week and then we were in the B&I final.
"We've been fighting on all counts massively, it has been a successful season but it's so disappointing because the guys put so much effort in."
